You may have seen the video or picture of a TIG welder firing off an arc of electricity into the finger or hand of the user. When you realized that they are still standing on their own feet, you start to wonder how that could possibly have happened without turning themselves into dried out Thanksgiving turkey.
There's a trick to it. Here it is!
First and foremost - Read the warning
This video depicts actions which are performed by a trained professional under controlled situations and settings. Pretty simple! Throw the ground lead far far away from you, don't stand on anything conductive, crank up the welder, turn the gas on, and take a deep breath.... You're about to fire a bolt of electricity into your body.
Psychologically speaking - it's a little scary at first. Once you get past the first arc, you'll probably showing everyone you know how to do it. If you aren't comfortable attempting it - DON'T DO IT! It's just a silly welder trick.
Now you know!
