A new product from IHeartGussets has just been released and The Fabricator is here to demonstrate the correct installation of the S13 Strut Tower to Firewall Gussets.
The installation could not have been simpler! Every single portion of it was a breeze as if it was meant to be there the entire time. The level on R&D that went into these is very evident as hole and rivet were laid down.
You will need some basic tools to install your S13 Strut Tower to Firewall Gussets:
- Drill
- 3/16" (#11) Drill Bit
- Phillips Head Screw Bit
- Hand Held Rivet Gun
- Tape Measure
- Marker
Some retail stores rent out some of these tools, and almost every hardware store will have everything you need. Some tools can be had for less money than others depending on the brand, and you can even check your local second hand listing pages for someone selling some of the tools needed..
Measurements
The initial measurements are crucial. If they are not set correctly, your IHeartGussets Strut Tower to Firewall Gussets may end up crooked and the holes may not line up where they need to be. It is very important that you pay attention to the placement and measure correctly. Hole number 1 should be measured at 1/2" from the inside edge of the chassis.

Additional Installation Options
It is suggested to use the supplied rivets for future serviceability. In the event that you have to remove the IHeart Gussets Strut Tower to Firewall Gusset for any reason, the rivets can be drilled out and replaced. Welding can absolutely be used in lieu of rivets. Simply follow the same order as the drilling and riveting instructions. Plug welds are recommended, but additional welds can be added if desired.
It is suggested that heavy duty sheet metal screws can be used, but it is not recommended as they will loosen over time making your IHeartGussets Strut Tower to Firewall Gusset ineffective. The rivets are the strongest mechanical fastening solution.
